The NMTC (National Mathematics Talent Contest) is a prestigious mathematics competition in India conducted every year to identify and encourage students with creative thinking skills in mathematics.

NMTC Exam Pattern 2026

The National Mathematics Talent Contest 2026 is going to be held in two stages:

NMTC Stage 1 (Preliminary Test): NMCT Stage 1 Exam consists of objective-type exams held at participating schools, consisting of multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions. Duration of Exam is 2 Hours (120 Minutes)

NMTC Stage 2 (Final Test): The Final stage is a subjective exam for students who qualify from Stage 1, held at authorized centers. To complete the final stage, there is a time period of 3 Hours (180 Minutes).

National Mathematics Talent Contest Syllabus 2026

This National Mathematics Talent Contest Syllabus entails a comprehensive coverage of mathematical concepts appropriate for each class level, preparing students for competitive mathematics exams and fostering mathematical talent in students from class 5 to college level.

• For Classes 5 and 6: basic arithmetic, number systems, simple geometry, and introductory concepts of mathematics suitable for these grades.
