After the CBT, qualified candidates are called for the PET. The PET is a physical test. It is a qualifying test. It does not add to the final score. A candidate must pass it to move on. The PET has two parts.
The RRB Group D physical test for male candidates includes two mandatory tasks: weight lifting and running. Male candidates must successfully complete both activities within the specified time limits to qualify.
Weight Lifting Test (Male):
Weight: 35 kg
Distance: 100 meters
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Condition: Must be completed in one attempt without dropping the weight
Running Test (Male):
Distance: 1000 meters
Time Limit: 4 minutes 15 seconds
Attempts: Single attempt only
Male candidates failing to meet the above physical standards are disqualified from further stages, irrespective of their CBT score.
The RRB Group D physical test for female candidates is designed to assess strength and stamina with comparatively adjusted benchmarks. Female candidates must qualify in both weight lifting and running tests.
Weight Lifting Test (Female):
Weight: 20 kg
Distance: 100 meters
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Condition: Must be completed in one attempt
Running Test (Female):
Distance: 1000 meters
Time Limit: 5 minutes 40 seconds
Attempts: Single attempt only
Female candidates must complete both tasks within the prescribed limits to be considered PET qualified.
The RRB Group D running time is a crucial qualifying parameter in the Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates are given only one chance to complete the running task, making preparation essential.
| Category | Distance | Time Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Male | 1000 meters | 4 min 15 sec |
| Female | 1000 meters | 5 min 40 sec |
Failure to complete the run within the allotted time results in immediate disqualification from the recruitment process.
Note: Candidates with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from PET, but they must clear the medical examination as prescribed by the Railway Recruitment Board.
Candidates who pass both the CBT and PET move to this stage. This is an important step. A candidate's original documents are checked here. All details must match the application form. Any mismatch can lead to a candidate's rejection. A candidate must bring all original papers. A list of required documents is provided by RRB.
