Is SSC JE 2024 Exam Pattern Changed?
The Staff Selection Commission has introduced the new
SSC JE Exam Pattern
for the mains examination i.e. Paper 2. Previously, the Commission organized the SSC JE Paper 2 in conventional mode (descriptive type) which includes the descriptive questions on the technical topics of the concerned disciplines like Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical. Now the Staff Selection Commission changed the Mains exam pattern and adopted some major changes in the examination below. Notably, the SSC JE Paper 1 Exam Pattern remains unchanged in the new exam format.
Now, Paper 2 has also become a computer-based test that carries objective-type questions. It solely focuses on identifying the knowledge of candidates in specific discipline-related subjects up to the Diploma level.
The SSC JE Paper 1 consists of 200 multiple-choice questions from General Intelligence & Reasoning. General Awareness and General Engineering section (Civil & Structural, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering). The marks obtained by applicants in Paper 1 determine the shortlisting for Paper 2. The final selection of candidates is made based on their performance in both stages.
The SSC JE Old Exam Pattern also involved two stages i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. For which, the Paper 1 pattern was the same as the current exam pattern but there were changes in the Paper 2 exam pattern. According to the old exam pattern, Paper 2 was conducted via offline mode to test the comprehensive knowledge of students in the technical subjects.
