Introduction

Management And Natural Resource of Class 10

The word ‘resource’ means a source of supply or support that is generally held in reserve.

Natural resources are the materials, which living organisms can take from nature for the sustenance of their life. They are air, water, soil, minerals, coal, petroleum, animals and plants.

We manipulate these resources to produce whatever required.

These resources occur in their natural form. Few examples are as follows:

  • Air, wind, and atmosphere
  • Plants (Flora)
  • Animals (Fauna)
  • Agronomy (the science of using plants for food, fuel, feed, and fiber)
  • Wildlife
  • Forestry and Agroforestry
  • Coal and fossil fuels
  • Range and pasture
  • Soils
  • Water, oceans, lakes, and rivers
