IELTS Activity Cue Cards FAQs

Q1- Can I use slang and casual language during the IELTS Speaking test?

Ans- Slang and informal vocabulary should be avoided when taking the IELTS Speaking exam. Examiners test your English communication skills, so using formal language shows that you are proficient. Speaking with appropriateness and clarity allows you to fully show your language proficiency.

Q2- Is the IELTS speaking test easy?

Ans- Many students find the IELTS speaking exam difficult because of its focus on correctness, confidence, and fluency in English communication. Students can get their desired scores with tough preparation and practice. It is essential to acknowledge that students have varying experiences and that what presents a difficulty for one student may not be the same for another.

Q3- What vital language elements should I remember while attempting the cue card section?

Ans- Use a variety of words and expressions, such as idioms and phrasal verbs, to do well in the cue card aspect. Try speaking clearly and effectively while using lengthy, complex phrases. Clearly explain the answer and include examples to back up your points.

Q4- Is it necessary to answer all questions in cue card IELTS?

Ans- The topic card does not have any questions. The card has prompts on it. The purpose of the prompts is only to help you. You need to include a lot more material in your speech than what is asked of you on the cue card.

Q5- Do cue cards repeat in IELTS?

Ans- Certain cue card subjects tend to return, even if they could change every few months. Regular practice using previous cue cards is helpful as it helps you become comfortable with common subjects. You'll feel more confident on exam day if you study well enough to see patterns and trends.
