UP Board Class 12 English Syllabus Overview

One unseen passage followed by:
- Four short answer questions (4x3 = 12 marks)
- Three vocabulary-based questions (3x1 = 3 marks)
Section B: Writing (20 Marks)
Article Writing (Descriptive, Argumentative, or Autobiographical) 100 to 150 words (10 marks)
Letter Writing (Editor, Complaint, Business Letters: Orders, Bookings, Cancellations, Enquiries) (10 marks)
Section C: Grammar (25 Marks)
Ten questions based on the following topics (10x2 = 20 marks):
- Narration
- Synthesis
- Transformation
- Syntax
- Idioms and Phrases
- Synonyms and Antonyms
- One Word Substitution
- Homophones
Translation from Hindi to English (7 to 8 sentences) (5 marks)
Section D: Literature (40 Marks)
This section includes prose and poetry from Flamingo and chapters from the Vistas supplementary reader.
