The following is a sample answer to the IELTS Cue Card, "Describe a book you recently read."

Introduction

Many people all over the world like reading books in their free time, and others even make it their hobby. I've read lots of books on several subjects up to this point, including motivation, mystery, biography, etc.

What type of book do you like?

I prefer the book's inspiration genre over all others since it inspires us to better ourselves and overcome our worries and depression. How to Win Friends & Influence People, Think and Grow Rich, and Awaken the Giant Within are some of the best books I've ever read. Every time I read these, especially Think and Grow Rich, one of my favourite books, I get chills.

What book is it?

Today, I will discuss Harry Potter, a well-known novel that practically every book fan has read. The Harry Potter series has seven volumes in total. The first novel is Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. My dad gave me this book for my 11th birthday, and I read it seven times over because I was so captivated by its plot.

What book is it about?

The novel is about a magical story where good and evil are competing against one other, with the evil being too powerful for the young man. It tells the story of a boy who, when magic enters his life, grows up and adopts an adventurous lifestyle.

Why do you like the book?

I bought all the books and finished the entire series after receiving the first book as a gift. The author has written this book in the best possible way, and the story's progression and narration are just perfect. The fact that the characters in this book are kids and that every child can relate to the story while reading it is what I enjoyed most about it.

Conclusion

I've read the book three times already after finishing it for the first time, and I'm not sure how many times I'll read it again.

The following is a sample answer to the IELTS Cue Card topic , "Describe a book you recently read."

Introduction

Nowadays, reading books has become a favourite hobby for many people around the world, and many people read books for fun. I am not particularly a big reader, but I've read three or four so far. I like watching TV shows and movies over reading books.

What type of book do you like?

I don't like most book genres, I have read biographies and documentaries that are based on real-life events. This allows us to be motivated to take on greater challenges in life by taking inspiration from the lives of other people.

What book is it?

"Forge your future" is the title of the book I want to discuss today. It has been recognized worldwide as one of the greatest motivating books ever since it was originally published in October 2014. The primary reason I read this is because Mr. Kalam is the Indian pioneer of rocket science, and I have always been interested in this subject.

What book is it about?

The statement that this book is a complete package or encyclopedia of all issues, from the personal to the national level, is not raised. Every issue was addressed with practical solutions by Mr. Kalam, who drew on his personal struggles and experiences. According to the book, Mr. Kalam went from being an ordinary middle-class boy to becoming a rocket scientist and then the president of India. This book does a wonderful job of explaining the difficulties and the path to success.

Why do you like the book?

The fact that this book is a biopic of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is the main reason I enjoy it. I respect his character. He leads an ordinary life after taking office as president and has no attitude toward interacting with the local people. Every single thing that is described in this book has the power to completely change someone's life because Dr. Kalam's aura is so different.

Conclusion

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be inspired to achieve something amazing that has never been done before. I've read this book three times already in an attempt to escape the negative things going on in my life.

Describe A Book You Recently Read Follow-up questions

These are follow-up questions for: "Describe a book you recently read." You have to answer questions on a broad topic or a question on your IELTS cue card during this session, which lasts approximately 4 to 5 minutes in the actual exam.

Q1 - Is it a good idea for children to read in school?

Ans - Yes, I believe that children's knowledge would grow as a result of reading books, and they would be able to learn outside of the classroom, which would broaden their understanding of the world and help them reach higher goals in life.

Q2 - Why do men and women have different book preferences?

Ans - Men and women have different ways of seeing the world, and since most men are interested in business and sports, they prefer to read novels in those genres. Women have a greater interest in fashion and enjoy reading magazines. Both men and women enjoy politics, but other genres, like literature, are focused on public knowledge.

Q3 - What kinds of books do children read nowadays?

Ans - Children like a wide different literature, including comic-filled magazines, picture books, animal books, and more. I enjoyed reading magazines and was amazed when I first saw comics or cartoons when I was ten years old. I was used to purchasing and reading those kinds of books whenever I came across them in the marketplace.

Q4 - Do you believe that children are no longer interested in stories?

Ans - No, I don't believe that children have completely lost interest in reading because they always go after and read novels that are about superheroes or fantasies. We can say that their interest in reading books has declined in comparison to earlier times because of the rise in mobile phone usage and the growing popularity of multiplayer video games among kids.

Q5 - What differentiates the books sold today from books sold in the past?

Ans - Books about culture, tradition, religion, and history used to sell well in our country because people were interested in those subjects. These days, people are more likely to read fiction and fantasy books because they enjoy good superhero stories, exciting stories, and other such stories. Books with this kind of material are selling more and more because of these reasons.
