As per NIT Meghalaya Faculty Eligibility 2025 criteria for selection, candidates meeting only the academic qualifications and work experience cannot comply with them for an interview call. For grade-2 assistant professors, a candidate must have pursued a PhD in the relevant field. No work experience is required for the  grade-2 assistant professor applicants. The online application fee for the recruitment drive of NIT Meghalaya Assistant Professors(grade-2) is described as follows:

• For general category/EWS/OBC candidates, the online application fee is ₹1000.

• For SC/ST/PwD categories and women are not required to pay the application fee. They are exempt from it.
