Important Topics in JIPMAT Syllabus 2027

The detailed syllabus contains several individual topics. Understanding the major topic groups can help you organize your preparation.

1. Number System

Number System includes divisibility, factors, multiples, HCF, LCM, factorials, digit concepts and remainders. These concepts form an important foundation for mathematical problem-solving.

2. Arithmetic

Arithmetic includes percentages, profit and loss, discounts, averages, ratios, mixtures, time and work, and speed, distance and time.

Focus on understanding the concepts first and then build speed through practice.

3. Algebra

Algebra covers linear equations, quadratic equations, identities, indices, surds, inequalities, logarithms, progressions, functions, matrices, determinants and related concepts.

4. Ratio and Proportion

Ratio and proportion is useful across several areas of Quantitative Aptitude, including mixtures, partnerships and other arithmetic applications.

5. Time, Speed and Distance

This includes speed-based problems, boats and streams, relative movement and races. Practice helps you identify the correct relationship between distance, speed and time.

6. Time and Work

Time and Work includes efficiency-based questions, combined work and pipes. Build your understanding of work rates before attempting more complex problems.

7. Geometry and Mensuration

This includes lines, angles, triangles, circles, quadrilaterals, area and perimeter. Learn the core properties and formulas and then practice applying them.
