To be eligible for GPAT 2025, candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) (4 years after 10+2, including lateral entry students) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Candidates appearing for the final year (4th Year) examination of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) whose result will be declared before the commencement of admission to M. Pharm courses for the academic year 2024-25 are also eligible to apply.
Candidates in the pre-final year (3rd Year) of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm), with results for the final year (4th Year) to be declared before the start of admission to M. Pharm courses for the academic year 2025-26, are eligible to appear for GPAT 2025.
Note: Candidates with a B.E./B.Tech. in Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemical Technology or an equivalent degree are not eligible to appear for the exam.

The GPAT 2025 follows a reservation policy based on the guidelines set by the Government of India and the respective State Governments. The reservation norms are as follows:
1. Reservation for Institutes Run by the Central Government: In institutes managed by the Central Government, the reservation of seats will be as per the following categories:
Scheduled Castes (SC): 15% of seats are reserved for SC candidates.
Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5% of seats are reserved for ST candidates.
Other Backward Classes (OBC) Non-Creamy Layer (NCL): 27% of seats are reserved for OBC NCL candidates as per the Central List.
Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10% of seats are reserved for General EWS candidates.
2. Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PwD): Each category will have 5% reservations for candidates with 40% or more disability, as defined in the Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016, under Section 2 (r) and (zc).
3. Reservation for Institutes Run by State Governments: For institutes that are run, aided, or recognized by the State Governments, the reservation policy of the respective State Governments will apply.
4. OBC - NCL Candidates: Candidates claiming OBC reservation must belong to the Central List of OBCs and fall under the Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) category.
