300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar: To celebrate the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar on May 31, 2025, the Madhya Pradesh government has launched several important programs. These include improving roads and buildings, helping women become more independent, and creating new job opportunities for young people. The goal is to honor her legacy by supporting development and progress in the state.
To honor the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, an important and respected figure in Madhya Pradesh's history, the state government has planned seven big development projects. These projects will help build better roads and buildings, protect old historical places, and support the local economy. The aim is to remember her great work by bringing progress and growth to the region. Here is the breakdown of those seven projects:
This scheme is designed to help young people get jobs by teaching them useful skills. It supports skill based training and also makes it easier for youth to get loans by giving an interest subsidy of up to Rs.10,000 per person. This means the government will help pay part of the loan interest. Every year, the government will spend Rs. 100 crore on this program to support skill development and increase employment.
This new law allows the government to form special planning committees and development authorities in big cities with over 10 lakh people. Cities like Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, and Dewas will benefit from better planning. The main goals are to improve city infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and create more job opportunities. This will help these cities grow in a smart and organized way.

A revised budget of Rs. 2,195 crore has been approved for building the Acharya Shankar Museum at Omkareshwar. This museum will focus on Advaita Vedanta, a spiritual philosophy taught by Adi Shankaracharya. It aims to promote education and attract tourists to the area. The project will help people learn about Indian philosophy while also boosting local tourism and economy.
To support women working in industries, the government has approved the construction of 26 hostels in four major industrial zones. These hostels will be built with a total budget of Rs. 249 crore. Each hostel will have helpful facilities like food courts, play areas for children, and spaces to relax or enjoy entertainment. This will provide a safe and comfortable living environment for working women.
The government has given Rs. 1,095 crore to upgrade two major healthcare institutions, Maharaja Yashwant Rao Hospital in Indore and Shyam Shah Medical College in Rewa. The money will be used to build new hospital blocks, better hostels for nursing students, and improve overall medical services. This will make sure that people in these areas get better treatment and healthcare facilities.
This scheme encourages people to help accident victims quickly by rewarding them for their courage. If someone helps take an accident victim to the hospital within the “golden hour” (the first hour after an accident), they will now receive a reward of Rs. 25,000, up from the previous Rs. 5,000. This will motivate more people to step forward and help save lives during emergencies.
To keep cities clean and hygienic, the Urban Sanitation Mission has been extended until the year 2028-29 with a budget of Rs. 227 crore. The mission focuses on buying machines for cleaning sewers, sludge removal vehicles, and providing safety gear for sanitation workers. This effort will help improve the health and cleanliness of urban areas and also support those who work hard to keep our cities clean.
