As 70 marks are reserved for the written examination, students must focus on understanding the theoretical concepts like Solutions and Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids as they both carry 8 marks each. The exam duration is of 3 hours and students are required to score at least a minimum of 23 marks in the written exam and 10 marks in the practical exam to pass in the subject. The passing mark is 33 marks.

The Practical assessment carries 30 marks, further divided into external and internal evaluation. Each evaluation carries 15 marks and students need to score a minimum of 10 marks in the practical assessment to pass.
