NTET Eligibility 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the National Teachers Eligibility Test (NTET) 2025 for persons with postgraduate degrees in Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy who want to work in these disciplines as teachers. The official announcement for NTET 2025 was issued on June 4, 2025, and the application period is available until June 23, 2025. NTET Age Limit

National Teacher Eligibility Test has no upper age restriction for students taking the test however , applicants must be at least 21 years old. This is true for applicants who want to work as assistant professors or who have a PhD and a Master's degree in health-related fields. There is no upper age limit for people taking the NTET.

NTET Educational Qualifications

NTET Eligibility For Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy

Candidates for the Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy NTET exam must have a recognized postgraduate degree in their respective fields. Here are some points to be considered while applying for the NTET Exam 2025:

1 Students in the Indian System of Medicine who have finished a 30-month post-graduate degree program are eligible to take the test.Candidates for the Homoeopathic System of Medicine must have a recognised postgraduate degree.
2 The degree should be listed/recognized in the Second Schedule of the IMCC Act, 1979, or Section 35 of the NCISM Act, 2020.
3 Anyone who is currently or has previously worked in a non-teaching profession (e.g., medical officers, research officers) and wants to pursue a teaching career must first complete the NTET for the Indian System of Medicine. 
4 Candidates seeking to enter the teaching profession for the first time as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the Indian System of Medicine must meet the age and qualifications criteria outlined in the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine regulations (2022). 
5 Candidates with a Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery degree and a Master of Science in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, or Master of Public Health from a recognised institute are eligible to apply for the Assistant Professor position. 
6 Candidates wishing to become Associate Professors must have 5 years of regular service experience after obtaining a post-graduate degree in the relevant discipline.The service can be provided by the Central/State Government Health Services or a recognised Homoeopathic Medical College. 
7 Candidates for the Associate Professor position must have at least five years of full-time research experience in Research Councils, Central/State Governments, Union Territory Administrations, Universities, or National Institutions, as well as three publications in indexed or peer-reviewed journals. 
8 Candidates for the Assistant Professor job must hold a Doctor of Philosophy degree as well as a Master of Science in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, and Toxicology or a Master of Public Health from a recognised institute. 

NTET Eligibility Qualifying Percentage

Candidates who passed the National Teachers' Eligibility Test for the Indian System of Medicine/Homoeopathy with at least fifty percent (50%) are considered qualified. This is applicable to both the written test and the total NTET. The applicant will be considered eligible for the NTET if they are able to pass with this minimum score.
