BSRB refers to the Banking Services Recruitment Board. These boards are located in cities such as Delhi, Chennai, Calcutta, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Gauhati, Baroda, Jaipur and many more. The BSRB exam is a nationalised bank probationary officer exam. Through this exam, the appointment of probationary officers in the nationalised bank is conducted in different regions. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree to qualify for this exam. Also, you must be at least 21 years of age if you want to appear for the exam. Candidates from the general category who are above 28 and not eligible for this exam. There is some age relaxation for candidates from SC, ST and OBC categories. The examination is very much like other bank exams. You have to pay an application fee of Rs.80. If you are a candidate from the scheduled caste or scheduled tribe, then you do not have to pay any application fees. Students get to know about this exam through the official notification. BSRB also notifies candidates through the employment news in newspapers. You will be informed about the paper some months before the exact conduction date. This means that candidates are given enough time for preparation
The Reserve Bank of India Services Selection Board conducts the exam. The exam consists of two phases. Phase 1 is the objective-type paper. Phase 2 is a descriptive-type examination. Only the candidates who can clear the phase one exam are eligible for the phase II exam. You can check the previous year's question paper to have an idea about the examination.
To be eligible for the BSRB exam, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree from a recognised educational institution in the country. The candidate must have at least 60% or equivalent grades in graduation. If you have a doctorate degree, you must have at least 50% marks. A chartered accountant or a cost accountant with a bachelor's degree is also acceptable. Candidates applying based on their bachelor's degree have an upper age limit of 26 years. Candidates applying based on their master's degree have an upper age limit of 28 years.
The BSRB exam is divided into two phases. Phase 1 for Grade ‘A’ officers is the objective type which consists of questions from general awareness, English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning. The phase 2 question paper is of the descriptive kind and consists of questions from the English language, such as essay, precise writing and comprehension. It also consists of questions about economic and social problems.
For grade B officers, phase 1 consists of objective-type questions from general awareness, English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning. Phase 2 consists of the English language consisting of questions from essays, precise writing and comprehension. Phase 3 consists of economics and social problems.
