In case two or more applicants get the same NTA score in the JEE Main 2025 Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech), the National Testing Agency (NTA) follows a seven-point method to break the tie:
The applicant with a higher NTA score in Mathematics will be given priority.
If the tie persists, the applicant with a higher NTA score in Physics will be considered next.
If the tie remains unresolved, the applicant with a higher NTA score in Chemistry will be given preference.
If the tie still exists, applicants with a lower proportion of incorrect answers to correct answers across all subjects will be considered.
If the tie persists, applicants with fewer incorrect answers compared to correct answers in Mathematics will be given preference.
Similarly, applicants with fewer incorrect answers in Physics will be given priority.
Lastly, if the tie is still unresolved, applicants with fewer incorrect answers in Chemistry will be preferred.
If the tie cannot be resolved after all these steps, the applicants will be assigned the same rank.
JEE Main Result Login 2025: What is All India Rank (AIR)?
The All India Rank (AIR) in JEE Main is a key factor in securing admission to various engineering institutions through the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). This rank is used for admissions to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, SFIs, and other participating institutions.
However, some institutions that do not follow the centralized seat allocation process will create their own rankings based on JEE Main 2025 performance and additional criteria set by the respective institutions.
