Chromate Structural Formula

Chemistry Formulas

The chromate formula is one of the most common formulas in chemistry. The formula represents the chromate ion which is one of the many polyatomic ions that are frequently used in the formation of insoluble salt.

By definition, chromate is a chromium oxoanion and divalent inorganic anion formed by the release of two protons in chromic acid. It acts as a strong oxidizing agent which is usually the conjugate base for hydrogen chromate.
