ICAR Full Form

ICAR full form is Indian Council of Agricultural Research. It is an autonomous organisation that was established in 1929 by the Ministry of Agriculture. The organisation is headquartered in New Delhi and was established under the Societies Registration Act, of 1860.

The organisation has 101 ICAR institutes and 71 Agricultural Universities making it one of the pioneer entities in the world. The main focus of the organisation is to offer proper education and research in the field of Agriculture.

ICAR full form in English is Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The organisation is managed and controlled by the Ministry of Agriculture, Indian Government. A lot of central, state, and private colleges are accredited by ICAR to offer Agricultural and Farming courses. These courses are offered at both UG and PG levels. Every year, around 89,413 candidates apply for the UG course and 20,650 candidates for the PG courses.

History of ICAR

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) was inaugurated in the year 1929. It was established as a separate wing for promoting Agricultural research and development in India.
