Bisection of a line segment
Step of construction
- Step 1: Draw a line segment AB of given length.
- Step 2: With centre A and radius more than half of AB draw arcs on each side of AB.
- Step 3: With centre B repeat step 2 to intersect previous arcs. Name them as E and F.
- Step 4: Now join E and F by a straight line.
- Step 5: Let the intersection point of AB and EF be M.M is the midpoint, so EF is bisector of AB.
