1. Align your JEE/AIPMT Preparation with KVPY

If you are a JEE or AIPMT aspirant, the good news is that KVPY syllabus is the same. You can simultaneously prepare for your college entrance as well as KVPY exams. Refer to the study materials of your JEE coaching center. Questions in KVPY are of JEE Advanced level. Hence, focus on fundamentals and core concepts; you will need to apply them in questions. In fact, preparing for KVPY will speed up your preparation for competitive exams too.

2. Schedule your Preparation Subject-wise

Strong problem-solving skills and concept clarity are needed to crack KVPY. It is imperative that you concentrate on each subject and prepare a time table around it.

• Physics: This section is usually tough in KVPY. Lots of questions are asked from Optics and Resistor Series. Even in SA which is KVPY for class 11, few questions are asked from class 12 syllabus such as Lens Maker’s Formula and Kirchhoff’s rules. If physics is your strong point, you will have an advantage over others.
• Chemistry: It is easier when compared to physics. Revise simple reactions from standard 10. Most of the questions are reaction or property based, very few questions will be asked from numericals. You’re expected to have a thorough knowledge of chemical bonding, organic and physical chemistry. NCERT is not sufficient for physical part.
• Mathematics: KVPY math is of moderate to tough difficulty level. You must prepare very well for it. Substitution and trial and error also works for this subject but might take up a lot of your time.
• Biology: Bio is considered the easiest section in KVPY. You must know the basic biology of class 9 and 10 for SA. Moreover, it is very scoring and students can easily qualify this section.

When you prepare for KVPY 2018 Exam, care should be taken that you are moving in the right direction. The more you practice, the fewer errors you make. How to Prepare?

• Focus on the conceptualising of the subject (Physics, Chemistry Mathematics, Biology) rather than learning it.
• Study thoroughly the previous year papers to get the pattern. This will help you in knowing the overview of the exam.
• Go through the numerical and multiple choice questions given at the back side of the reference books, almost all reference books for class 11th,12th will have them.
• You can crack the exam very easily if you have prepared well for JEE. Don’t forget to cover the topics of JEE main Syllabus because KVPY doesn’t have any “well defined” syllabus.

• The candidate needs to make a smart strategy to solve the questions in the minimum period.
• Make a schedule and study daily to score good marks.
• Study the complete syllabus to do well in the exam.

Hey guys, it is quite good to know u have decided to check ur talent in kvpy exam. The most important aspect is to solve previous years papers at least 5 yrs.

Chem: (1)atomic structure upto ncert. (2) molarity and normality, redox, some basic concept, (3) gaseous state(4) thermodynamics.

These are physical chemistry and comprise of 7–8 out of 20 questions every year.

Organic: learn every mechanism. Isomerism, nomenclature. Read ncert 11 completely. This section too includes 8 questions every year.

Inorganic: dont ignore this part. 4–5 questions come. Strict to ncert periodic properties. Chemical bonding should be prioritised. Just 2 chapters.

Maths: the toughest part.

Number system :4–5 questions.

Algebra : 6 questions. Polynomials, series, p and c, binomial.

Geometry: 7ques.

Commerce n clock: 1or 2 question.

Physics : mechanics chapters like kinematics, laws of motion, gravitation, fluid, rigid body r important. Optics, electrostatics and current comprise half of physics. Very difficult to learn such chapters within the stipulated time.
