How to Calculate CGPA for CBSE 10 Result 2023?

You can easily calculate your CGPA using the subject grade points (GPs) that you got in your CBSE results. Add up all the GPs scores in the five subjects you took but not the additional ones. The CGPA is then calculated by multiplying the total by 5.

Let’s say- The GPs scored by you in each subject are-

Maths- 9, Science- 7.5, Social Science- 8, English- 9, Hindi- 7

Sum of all GPs = 9 + 7.5 + 8 + 9 + 7 = 40.5

CGPA = 40.5/Total number of subjects = 40.5/5 = 8.1

To convert into percentage, calculate CGPA * 9.5. Now your CGPA is 8.1. So 8.1 * 9.5 will be equal to 76.95%.

9.5 is used to calculate CGPA to percentage because it is an average score generally obtained by the toppers in the CBSE board in previous years.

CBSE 10 Result 2023 Grading System

The CBSE grading system discloses the students' results as grades (A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2) rather than percentages. As a result, the students find it quite challenging to convert their grades into percentages.

If 1000 students took the exam this year, 800 would have passed. On the basis of merit, an A+ grade will be given. The first 100 students out of 800 will receive an A-1 grade according to the 1/8th formula. About the remaining pupils, the 1/8th formula will once more be relevant, and approximately 88 students will receive an A-2.

Only 76 of the remaining 612 pupils will receive a B-1. For the remaining pupils, the same 1/8 formula will be used. This indicates that 67 pupils will receive a B-2. Additional grading will be applied to the C-1, C-2, D, and E grades. Each grade will receive its separate points.
