About Quadrilateral

Area of Trapezium

Definition: A trapezium is a quadrilateral having a pair of parallel opposite sides. Let ABCD be a trapezium in which AB || DC, CE  AB, DF  AB and CE = DF = h is the height of trapezium ABCD.

From the given figure in the pdf , area of quadrilateral ABCD

Area of Quadrilateral

Let ABCD be a quadrilateral with AC as one of its diagonals. Let BP and DQ be the perpendiculars drawn from the vertical B and D on diagonal AC.From the figure given in the below mentioned pdf

Area of quadrilateral ABCD

= Area of triangle ABC + Area of triangle ADC

=1/2 diagonal multiple by sum of perpendiculars on the diagonal from the opposite vertices.

Area of Rhombus

Let ABCD be a rhombus and AC and BD be its diagonals which intersect at O. We know that the diagonals of a rhombus bisect each other at right angles and divides the rhombus into four congruent right triangle and divides the rhombus into four congruent right triangle.

Area of rhombus = 4 multiple Area of triangle AOB
