Equilateral Triangle

Area of triangle = 1/2×Base×Height

For an equilateral triangle each angle is equal to 60 degrees.

Draw an altitude h perpendicular to AB, it will bisect the line segment AB.

Then sin 60 degrees = h/a

= sqrt (3)/2 = h/a

= h = (sqrt (3) × a)/2

So area of triangle = 1/2 × Base ×altitude

Area of equi. Triangle=1/2×a×h =(sqrt (3)×a2)/4 where a is the side of an equi. Triangle

Hence

Area of equi. Triangle=(sqrt (3)×(side)2)/4
