SCRA Career

Leave The Special Class Railway Apprentices (SCRAs) may be granted leave with a full stipend for a period of one month in any year of their apprenticeship.
Medical facilities All Special Class Apprentices are eligible for free medical care at railway hospitals and dispensaries on the same basis as railway employees.
Traveling facilities Per year, there are two sets of Passes and six sets of Privilege Ticket Orders (PTOs) valid all through the Indian Railways.
  • A Special Class Apprentice traveling between headquarters as part of their training is entitled to a daily allowance for the period covered by the trip.
  • Trainees at the Railway Staff College, Baroda, will be entitled to daily allowances at full rates throughout their training.
  • Upon successfully completing four years of training, Special Class Apprentices receive a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering. This degree is recognized by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).
