UPSC CAPF AC Exam Pattern 2023
- The questions asked in Paper I will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type and the medium of paper will be English as well as Hindi.
- In paper II candidates will get the option of writing the Essay Component in English/Hindi and the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components, and other communications/ language skills will be set in English only.
- Furthermore, the exam duration for Paper I will be 2 hours, and Paper II will be of three hours.

Important Note:
There shall be minimum qualifying marks separately in each Paper decided by the commission in their discretion.
Thus, the evaluation of Paper-I will be done first, and then the evaluation of Paper II will be done only for those candidates who secure the minimum marks in Paper-I.
UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern 2023 for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests
Candidates who clear the written examination will be shortlisted for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. Thus, all the candidates who will fulfill the prescribed Physical Standards will have to appear in the Physical Efficiency Tests as shared below:

UPSC CAPF AC Exam Pattern 2023 for Interview/Personality Test
- All the eligible candidates who have qualified in the Medical Standards Tests will be shortlisted for the Interview/Personality Test.
- Furthermore, the Interview/Personality Test will be conducted for a total of 150 Marks.
- Also, the shortlisted candidates will be issued a Detailed Application Form (DAF) in which they have to share their preference of Forces.
- Lastly, the final UPSC CAPF merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.

- No negative marking is applicable for Paper II.
- In Paper I, there shall be a negative marking (penalty) for the wrong answers marked in objective-type papers. So, the negative marking criteria will be as follow:
- For each wrong answer marked by the candidates, one-third (0.33) of the marks will be deducted as a penalty.
- If a candidate attempted more than one answer, it will be considered as a wrong answer even if one of the attempted answers is correct and there will be the same penalty applicable for that question as well.
- If a question is left unattempted, there will be no negative marking for that question.
