The SSB full form is Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). It is responsible for guarding the borders of India and maintaining law and order within their area of jurisdiction. It is one of the largest paramilitary forces in India, and hence every year, it conducts a highly competitive recruitment examination for various posts in the force.

The SSB Recruitment Examination has multiple stages. It starts with an online registration process, followed by a physical endurance test, a written examination and finally, a medical examination. It is designed to test a candidate's level of general knowledge, reasoning ability and basic mathematics skills. The physical endurance test entails various events like the racing, long jump and the shot put.

Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)

Candidates who qualify for the SSB examination are selected on the basis of their overall performance. All candidates who clear the recruitment test will be sent for a medical examination. The medical examination further assesses the physical fitness of the candidate and checks for any communicable diseases/illness/impairment.

The SSB Skill / Typing Test

Candidates must also have the basic knowledge of computers along with the physical and medical requirements. A minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute for the English language and 35 words per minute for the Hindi language is essential. A test for the same is carried out.

SSB Registration

To apply for the SSB examination, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the SSB recruitment, i.e., ssbrectt.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the link that reads “Online Application for filling up the post of Head Constable (Ministerial)”. You will now be redirected to a new page.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Apply’ button and fill in all the details that are required to be filled in.

Step 4: You will now be asked to upload the required documents. A new page will open showing your registration ID and the applied post.

Step 5: You now have to pay the fees. Click on the submit button after paying the fees.

Step 6: Your registration is successful. Download / Print the application for future reference.
